It started as a joke...

A good friend of mine has two rather disgusting but loveable rescue dogs, who are the love of his life...his children. I made a picture for his birthday, elaborately composited to make them look like a Victorian etching of the proud and thoroughbred hunting dogs they aren't. This rather illustrative approach seemed to grab clients' imaginations and led to some commissions...proper pedigree dogs mostly, but the tongue-in-cheek approach still seemed to apply. It's organically developing and now no loved domestic animal is safe...horses, sheep, cats (although they will be a whole new project in themselves...watch this space) even goats. Whatever the creature, melodrama is everything.
